On January 5, Bae’s management agency Keyeast said, “We decided to cancel production of ‘Drops of God” because it would be difficult to keep up the quality of the drama due to production issues.” The agency official added, “The original manga makes many references to real wine brands, but the names of famous wines are not allowed to be used in the drama due to regulations regarding indirect advertisement.” In addition, the agency said, “The due date for copyrights will take place early this year, but we don’t have any plans to extend the copyright.” Bae Yong-joon has said that he is a big fan of the Japanese manga version of “Drops of God.” The production company Keyeast, of which Bae is a major shareholder, said they had bought the copyrights to “Drops of God” in August, 2008, with plans to produce the drama. http://english.kbs.co.kr/Entertain/EntertainmentNews/view.html?No=7252
