Depression In Men

I've never met a guy who didn't want to be like Russel Crowe or Arnold Schwarzenegger. There's something about these tough-as-nails, lone wolf characters that just draw us in. Most of us grew up with the idea that real men are the strong and silent types - the macho guys who keep their feelings to themselves and always get the girls. That may play well in the movies, but in real life this skewed view of manhood can be a disaster. Experts say that one in six Australian men will suffer from depression at some point in their life but most are afraid to talk about it. That's why four times more men commit suicide than women. Women tend to talk about their feelings more openly, and that helps them cope during difficult times. So guys, don't try to be a lone wolf with your emotions. Look for help if you feel depression setting in. This article was featured in Today, 3 November 2009. http://imcms2.mediacorp.sg/CMSFileserver/documents/006/pdf/20091103/0311VOR02...
