Is Megan Fox the new Angelina Jolie?
The list of similarities between Jolie and Fox (right) begins with their shared love of tattoos. Inscribed on her back, Fox has a quote from Shakespeare’s King Lear play, in an old English style font which reads: “We will all laugh at gilded butterflies.” She also has Marilyn Monroe’s face on her inner forearm.
Jolie also has many tattoos, one between her shoulder blades reads: “Know your rights”, reportedly the title of one of her favourite songs. On her left shoulder blade is a Buddhist Pali incantation written in Khmer script, the language of Cambodia. It is to protect her and her adopted Cambodian son Maddox, from bad luck.

Jolie and Fox are firm lovers of show-stopping gowns, and love to reveal their never-ending legs in ‘the-thighs-the-limit’ split dresses. Fox recently opted for a terracotta one-shoulder design by Roberto Cavalli to promote ‘Transformers 2: Revenge Of The Fallen’, in Berlin. Jolie is also an ardent fan of the thigh-split numbers, and chose a soft nude creation by Versace for high impact at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year.

The current trend for asymmetrical floor-length designs also flatter the Hollywood starlets. The revealing Kaufman Franco dress in white, worn here by Megan Fox to a premiere in Los Angeles is another opportunity to reveal her envious figure. Jolie, however, chose a more demure one-sleeved option for an awards ceremony last year.

Parisian designer Hervé L. Leroux appears to be one of Megan Fox’s couturiers. Famed for his bandage-style and draped jersey dresses, Fox is a fan of his sculpted styles, which she wore to appear on the David Letterman show in New York. The shape of the neckline is reminiscent of the gown Jolie wore to the 81st Annual Academy Awards in Los Angeles in February this year.

Both actresses have often worn strapless dresses, and while Jolie will often go for a block coloured, full length floor-sweeper, 23 year-old Fox is not afraid of patterned styles which show off her toned pins, such as this short brocade design by Dolce & Gabbana.
