Senior physiotherapist Lim Hun Teck advises to stop exercise immediately and seek medical attention if you experience these symptoms.
- Chest pain or other pain that could indicate a heart attack, including pain in the neck and jaw, pain travelling down the arm or pain between the shoulder blades
- Extreme breathlessness
- Severe muscle pain or cramps
- Severe pain in any muscles or joints, particularly in the joints of the knee, ankle, elbow and wrist. See a doctor if your joint pain lasts more than 48 hours.
- Experience numbness and tingling. Such sensations are often related to nerve compression and may indicate serious injury that should always be seen by a physician.
