On Tuesday, 14 October 2008, it was reported that on TNP that a man was fined S$200 for sleeping on bench in the park by the National Parks Board (NParks).
He had dozed off lying down on the wooden bench while taking shelter from the rain. He was asked to wake up by the NParks rangers and asked for his identity card. He was issued with the ticket and a letter detailing his offence and asking him to pay the fine five days later.
This is really ridiculous and absurd just to impose a fine for sleeping on a park bench where there is no signage at the parks to warn people.
None of us even know that there will be fined for taking a nap in the park.
I just wonder what are they going to fine next !!! People taking a nap on the MRT or standing closing their eyes to rest?
