The airline said Tuesday that from Nov. 23 until Dec. 7 it surveyed its 2,010 flight attendants on the best place to spend a winter holiday, and the Japanese city topped the list with 17 percent or 342 votes. Sapporo is a haven for winter lovers with world-class ski facilities, an annual snow festival in early February, and renowned hot spring spas. Zurich, Switzerland, ranked second with 214 votes, and Hawaii came in third with 210 flight attendants recommending its warm climate as an excellent break from the winter cold. Koreans can visit Hawaii without a visa, since Korea was added to the U.S. visa waiver program in November last year. Other Japanese tourist destinations rounded out the top-five list, with 134 respondents picking Fukuoka for its nearby spectacular Mount Yufuin and upmarket ryokan or Japanese inns, and 94 recommending Akita, where some scenes of the Korean drama "Iris" were filmed. http://english.chosun.com/site/data/html_dir/2009/12/09/2009120900257.html
